The problem
Drivers circling for a space is a data problem wearing a traffic costume. Operators have the occupancy signal in a hardware controller nobody outside the building can read, and revenue leaks through unenforced sessions.
The approach
Get the occupancy signal out of the hardware and into an event stream, then build everything — the app map, the pricing engine, the enforcement report — as readers of that stream.
Payment is designed around the exit: the session must close and settle before the barrier lifts, and it must still close correctly when the network drops mid-transaction.
The build
Sensor and controller integrations over MQTT, licence-plate recognition for ticketless entry and exit, a Flutter app with a live availability map and session timer, tariff rules with free periods, day caps and resident permits, and an operator console for enforcement and revenue reporting.
The stack
Flutter on mobile, Node.js services over PostgreSQL with PostGIS, MQTT for device telemetry, and a hardware abstraction layer so a new barrier vendor is a driver rather than a rewrite.
